Hong Kong Events - April 2027
April is warm, humid and often misty, with the first heavy showers of the year. It opens with the grave-sweeping festival and closes with the biggest classical date in Tsim Sha Tsui.
Ching Ming crowds move through the transport hub on 5 April, and on the last weekend of the month the Hong Kong Philharmonic brings its Brahms piano concertos to the Concert Hall of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre — a five-minute walk from the top of Nathan Road.

🎋 Festivals and Holidays
Ching Ming Festival
📅 Monday, 5 April 2027 · public holiday
The grave-sweeping festival, when families travel to cemeteries and columbaria across the territory. The Tsim Sha Tsui transport hub is busy and the roads to the hills are busiest in the morning.
📍 Location: Hong Kong-wide; heavy footfall through Tsim Sha Tsui
🎟️ Entry: free
🌐 More Information: GovHK public holidays 2027
Why go: not a spectacle, but a reminder that this is a living city calendar — and a good day to stay off the roads and walk the Golden Mile instead.

💡 Practical Notes
- Ching Ming (5 April): expect heavy crowds through the Tsim Sha Tsui transport hub and on roads to the cemeteries; the MTR is the easiest way around.
- Book the Brahms nights early: the Cultural Centre Concert Hall is a modest size and this programme will sell.
- April showers: keep an indoor fallback — the museums and the malls along the Golden Mile. See the weather page.
